{"id":6154,"date":"2021-03-03T20:09:18","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T20:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ateneu.eventline.pt\/?p=6154"},"modified":"2022-03-03T20:11:21","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T20:11:21","slug":"lusiadas-ateneu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ateneucomercialporto.pt\/en_en\/2021\/03\/03\/lusiadas-ateneu\/","title":{"rendered":"LUS\u00cdADAS (1st facsimile edition)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Ateneu Comercial do Porto<\/strong>\u00a0ordered from\u00a0<strong>Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Ricardo do Esp\u00edrito Santo Silva (FRESS)<\/strong>\u00a0the production of 500 facsimile (numbered) copies of the\u00a0<strong>1st Edition of \u201cOs Lus\u00edadas\u201d from 1572<\/strong>, whose original is owned by the Ateneu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a literary work \u2013 deluxe edition \u2013 of rare beauty, an epic poem of classical inspiration, consisting of ten cantos composed of tenths in heroic decasyllables. It lives from an aesthetically harmonized contradiction between the action of pagan deities and the protection of Christian sentiment and the expansion of faith, which animates an ardor of conquest and possession of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This First edition of<strong>&nbsp;\u201cOs Lus\u00edadas\u201d<\/strong>, usually identified by&nbsp;<strong>A edition, or Ee edition<\/strong>, now known as&nbsp;<strong>Princeps edition<\/strong>, is part of the bibliographic collection of the Ateneu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The production of these 500 copies has been carried out in stages by the&nbsp;<strong>FRESS<\/strong>, given the manual finishing process, with only about 100 copies left for sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>At the moment, only copies are available for delivery (numbering from 40 to 70) at the price of&nbsp;<strong>1.200,00 Euros&nbsp;<\/strong>with the deluxe safe included.
