 <\/b><\/span>THE NEW CONCEPT THAT CELEBRATES THE PLEASURE OF MUSIC AND PROMISES TO CONQUER THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC THAT VISIT PORTO<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

The historic and emblematic great hall of the Ateneu Comercial do Porto opens its doors to music and from the 18th of August begins \u201cCaf\u00e9 Concerto\u201d: memorable nights in which Thursdays will be dedicated to jazz, Fridays to bossa-nova and on Saturdays musical tributes take the stage.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
On Thursday, August 18th, Caf\u00e9 Concerto makes its debut with classics and jazz originals performed by the In\u00eas Gouveia Trio. Timeless songs by Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque, Baden Powell, among others, will echo through the Great Hall and dazzle the audience.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
On the 19th, Friday, it's time for the warm and tropical rhythms of bossa-nova, with Trio Azul, which will bring themes from the unforgettable Ant\u00f3nio Carlos Jobim, Elis Regina, Jo\u00e3o Gilberto, among other masters of this made in Brazil sound.<\/span><\/div>\n

On the 20th of August, Saturday, the Great Hall welcomes the Tribute band, John Black Wolf & Filipa Guedes, who will pay tribute to some Pop\/Rock music icons such as Prince, with the theme that marked a generation, \u201cPurple Rain\u201d, Michael Jackson and \u201cBeat It\u201d, Lady Gaga and the success of the movie \u201cA Star Was Born\u201d, \u201cShallow\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Caf\u00e9 Concerto project, created by the artist In\u00eas Villadelprat, started at the end of 2021, online and in a short television line, broadcast every Sunday on Porto Canal, but the need arose to broaden the concept and reach more audiences, creating a physical space Special. <\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
Over its 153 years of existence, the Great Hall has been the stage for several important cultural demonstrations: the actor Vasco Santana recited poetry and sang fado. In 1953, a little 8-year-old pianist, Maria Jo\u00e3o Pires, performed. Shortly after, it was the turn of another young Portuguese pianist, Ant\u00f3nio Victorino d\u2019Almeida, still a teenager, in what was his first performance in Porto and one of the first of his career.<\/span><\/div>\n

The space gained an increased monumentality after the remodeling by the architect Amoroso Lopes in the late 1940s. On the walls, stucco plant panels alternate with majestic mirrors that expand the perception of space. Above, a balcony offers a privileged view over the Main Hall. From the ceiling, hang two crystal chandeliers that reinforce the natural light coming from the vast skylight.<\/span><\/div>\n
This will be a unique experience by combining musical quality in a space that is considered cultural heritage, on a night when the public can also enjoy the late social interaction, after 2 years of pandemic, and have exclusive access to the Porto Rugby Club.<\/span><\/div>\n
